Multicat households

Multicat households: To reduce stress ia multi-cat household, one should educe competition over resources and divide up resources up between different core areas in the house. Each cat has his/her core area and they shouldn’t have to cross into another territory to get to their resources. This luckily is not a problem if 2 or more cats(conspecifics) accept each other. Problem behaviors such as urine spraying, over-grooming, hiding away, inactivity; and active aggression and fighting can arise.

Vaccinations, deworming and tick and flea medication should always be kept up to date to prevent the spread and transmission of parasites and disease. Sterilization is advised to prevent unwanted litters and free roaming.
